As a kid, one of my favorite shows was "Baa, Baa Black Sheep" (the original title of what later became "Black Sheep Squadron"). Robert Conrad played Major Greg "Pappy" Boyington, a real-life marine who led the USMC fighter squadron in the Pacific during WWII. Thirty years earlier, Major Boyington appeared in this "true stories"-style comic published in 1947, and posted on Four Color Shadows.
