Golden Rule Days, Indeed

From the "I'll believe it when I see it" department:  Modern Mechanix posted an item from 1935 about a proposed school in Los Angeles designed to "induce children to go to school because they want to rather than because they have to . . . ."  I wonder how that worked out.
