Largest Radio In The World From 1936

Designed for world-wide reception on all wave lengths, the mammoth receiver has a complicated circuit which employs forty tubes. According to this post on 20th Century Radio, in 1936 a Chicago engineer built what was believed to be the largest radio receiver in the world.  Capable of world wide reception and "exceptional" sound quality, the set had 40 tubes, five speakers and weighed in at a mere 620 pounds.
