It Is A Housecar

Back in September, the Hemmings blog posted two related items about the Brooks Stevens motorhomes.  The first posting noted that a modified version of a Brooks Stevens was for sale at Hemmings, at a price of $150,000 (photo below).  The second provided a history of the Brooks Stevens vehicles.  Apparently, while driving one to the New York World's Fair in 1940, Stevens was pulled over in Manhattan for driving a commercial vehicle on Fifth Avenue.  Stevens replied, "This, Officer, is not a truck.  It is a housecar."  He then made his way to the fairgrounds, where NBC interviewed him in a live broadcast.
