Beale Street honors Swing Band Leader Jimmie Lunceford

I missed posting this item before it happened, but it is certainly worthy of a belated mention. One of my favorite swing-era band leaders, former Memphian and Manasas High School Band director, Jimmie Lunceford, will receive a brass note on the Beale Street Walk of Fame. There was a celebration on Beale Street yesterday to mark the occasion.
